Venom 2016-2017

In an effort to enhance our training experience for 2016-2017 Venom is moving to a year-long enrollment based system for our teams.  This move stems from your feedback in an effort to keep our teams together and provide a longer training period for players to mesh with their teams and coaches before summer competition.

In the fall, Venom will host a two weekend evaluation process that will provide the basis for our teams for the year.  Fall will consist of once a week practices on Sunday, a local play-day in October, and the Rumble in Richmond November 5th and 6th.  During the fall we recommend that Venom players not involved in a fall sport participate in their local rec or fall ball league.

In the winter we will continue hosting team clinics where players will receive both individual and positional skill based instruction as well as develop team chemistry working on offensive and defensive team concepts in bimonthly practice sessions.  During the winter we encourage all available players to enroll in box lacrosse programs.

In the spring elementary and middle school teams will continue their bimonthly training while high school players will not have training as to not interfere or pose risk of injury while they are playing with their HS teams. During the Spring we recommend that Venom players participate within their middle school, high school or local rec teams.

Our summer schedule will include a 4 day boot camp followed by twice a week practices into July.  Our intent is to finish the weekend of July 8th and 9th however tournament selection may require to extend by a week   Each team will participate in 3 tournaments.

A National Level Team option will be available for Elite level players selected for an additional July tournament.
