North Meets South Lacrosse is committed to the development of the great sport of lacrosse in the Mid-Atlantic Region, with specific focus on the Greater Richmond Area. NMS will work diligently to grow the game in Richmond and surrounding areas, and to make the Mid-Atlantic Region one of the premier lacrosse hot beds in the United States.

It is the goal of North Meets South to provide athletes, coaches, and the community with the tools and skills they need to elevate themselves as players, coaches, fans, and individuals, to challenge themselves, and to ultimately succeed on and off the lacrosse field. Most importantly, we strive to provide everyone involved in our programs with a great experience including valuable lessons that resonate long after their time with NMS has passed. We will prepare those who work with us not only to be better lacrosse fans, players, or coaches, but also to be better individuals and teammates who are well equipped for their future endeavors.

NMS will teach individual players the proper skill sets both physically and mentally to bring out their best potential. We will extend to our athletes the importance of teamwork, leadership, dedication, education, honesty, sportsmanship and competition in a safe and positive atmosphere. NMS coaches will utilize a disciplined yet compassionate coaching style to assist players in achieving their goals. NMS will also emphasize proper moral conduct both on and off the field while stressing the overall importance of being a positive influence on the field, in the community, and in the classroom as well.

NMS will focus on the development of area coaches through coaching clinics that not only focus on the “X’s & O’s”, but the more important aspects of leading in a positive, knowledgeable, and proactive manner. NMS will stay current with cutting edge coaching techniques while adhering to the foundations of proper lacrosse fundamentals. We will work collaboratively with existing programs in the area to help unify and build a strong lacrosse community in Richmond that will serve as a model for other cities where lacrosse is developing. Additionally, NMS events will focus on providing positive experiences for families, coaches, and players while placing significant importance on the development and recognition of the Mid-Atlantic region as a viable lacrosse hot bed.

Those working with NMS will be asked to commit themselves to a high level of accountability that demands they become a better person, player, or coach through leading by example and exhibiting an appropriate standard of conduct at all times. They will be held responsible for their actions in all aspects of life including maintaining high academic standards, proper social conduct, community engagement, and helping to positively grow the sport.
